Hi all,
just noticed that 0.8.4 requires PR 1.3 that was just released. Is this ok for you all or should we support PR 1.2? Have you N900 peeps already upgraded to 1.3?

You need to add Extras-devl catalogue so that you can download it, not that this contains beta applications so be careful with what programs you install
How to activate Extras-devel
In the Application Manager:
Navigate to the application menu (tap the title bar)
Select ‘Application catalogs’
Select ‘New’
Enter a catalog name of ‘Maemo extras-devel’
Enter a web address of http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel
Enter a distribution of ‘fremantle’
Enter components of ‘free non-free’
Select ‘Save’

Does this new version (0.8.4) support older Symbian S60 v3.1
every time i try to install, after component verification and continuing wordpress installation i’m getting a error message “Request failed access not granted”. somehow i installed it by hacking my phone still when i try to open the application got a error message “feature not supported”
anybody have any answer or solutions?

Hello Pilot
This version does not support Symbian S60 v3.1. The reason for this is that some features used by WP App (retrieving GPS location) requires additional capabilities with S60 3.1.
We have the flags there to leave all location-based stuff out and create a vanilla S60 3.1 build but haven’t been doing that recently due to the manual work related to it.
Anyway, let us post here a v3.1 build without location support before end of the day today – ok?

Hi futubanister
Thanks for the feedback
So I’m continuing using Version 0.8.2 now.
If there would be a built S60 3.1 in near future, I would like to suggest something. On Version 0.8.2, app’s Interface feels like it’s targeted for touch screen devices and its little difficulties to interact with physical keys, so the app’s interface have to be more comparable with non-touch inputs and if copy/paste function works with WP app, it would be better.

Hi Pilot,
You are right. UI has been optimized for touch devices. Consider it as a bonus that it works somehow on non-touch devices also.
Although not officially supported here is the version built without location dependency so it should work on S60 3rd ed FP1.

hi, i updated my wordpress client from 0.8.2 to 0.8.4. After the update the application is not opening even on repeated tricks and a phone reboot. Thought something went wrong so i downgraded to 0.8.2 and checked the app and found it working perfectly. So i again updated to 0.8.4 but the problem persists. Am i doing something wrong? From version number i can make out that i’ve skipped version 0.8.3, is that causing the problem? Help is appreciated.

Hi roshan,
You probably have S60 3rd ed phone which is not supported by the latest build.
Here is the link to special build made for S60 3rd ed FP1 which you can try.
