Little fix for N8, C6-01, C7 and E7
Hi,
there was some packaging issues with the builds causing them not to install properly on Symbian^3 devices.
Here’s the new smart installer build that should install to N8 and others – please remove the old versions before installing this.
This should also work with other devices, but I didn’t test it yet.

A few uninstalls and a reboot and all is now fine. Installed and looks great.

At that stage, it is a problem with the smart installer. Unfortunately we don’t know why it is doing that, as it is a separate piece of software made by Nokia. Good that it worked for you in the end though

Found a possible bug that WordPress for Nokia v0.84 only lets me upload to draft and not publish to my blog. I have to load up the site and publish from draft. Also would love to add images in client but not found option on Nokia N8 with v011.012 FW.

Hi mbrett,
At least on our N8 it works without problems.
Did you change post state to ‘Published’ from combo box?
And ‘Add photos…’ button works also. Did you have some problems with that or did you miss that?

Forgot one other issue. Missed the others as was in landscape and missed the additional settings below. I know dumb mistake. We all make them every so often.
Anyway the Issue I forgot to mention is the lack of capitals on first letter in text fields. This is a known issue seen by other devs.
Tried selecting caps and all caps also does not work. have to type first random character and then capitalise second before removing original random character. Only work around I’ve found so far.

At least on our N8 you can capitalize first letter with no problem. I don’t need to use any tricks to do it.
Or do you mean that it should auto capitalize first letter?

The problem goes away with 0.82 (OVI Store) and 0.85 versions.

The problem was that it was impossible to have the first character in the text entry field capitalised. Could have capitals after that.

Unfortunately Qt supports only S60 3rd ed FP1 and newer. N80 just misses that being S60 3rd ed.

Sorry but I only got trouble to install software like this (using “smart-installer” crap) on my N8. I’ve manually installed QT4.7 on my phone after a reset and everything works fine except apps using the smart installer
Is it possible to get a version without this crap or a way to be able to install wordpress again?
qtwebkit 2.1, qtwebkit, qtmobility 1.02, qmlparticleplugin, qmlgetureplugin, qmlfolderlistmodelplugin, qt, qt4.7.0 opengl installed on C: and I cannot install the wordpress file???
It installs proper and then starts the verification (2nd installation routine) and then it shows only “abortet bla bla”

Done by myself… Used a little tool to extract the content of the .sis File above. Installed only WordPress 085beta.sis and (oh halleluja!) everything worked fine
So you can be sure its the “Smart Installer” which causes the problems…

Well, you can skip the smart installer if you use the “update” package. That’s the same package you extracted from the installer sis file. However we don’t support Qt 4.7 yet because that hasn’t been released for symbian. And you probably find some issues that aren’t working because you are using Qt 4.7.
