I might have missed some instructions earlier.
But when i try to install this i get: Component “Qt” is missing, continue anyway?
futubanister 9:45 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
Hi Ingo,
You need to install Qt libraries first. You can find the installation package from here: ftp://ftp.qt.nokia.com/pub/qt/symbian/4.6.2/qt_installer.sis

Are there any legs in the possibility of a reduced size QT version. Want it on an N97 which means space remains a premium.
Martyn Brett 3:35 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
Looks promising for smaller QT install. Smart Installer only installs what’s needed for the loaded QT Apps. Or at least that’s how it reads to me.http://qt.nokia.com/developer/nokia-smart-installer-for-symbian
All we need now is install to E: drive.
mosko 3:54 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
installing this qt release is enough for installing wordpress for nokia?
Micky Aldridge 3:40 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
Agreed, installing to mass memory would be a godsend.
ftest18 4:03 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
Okay, now the build is also available on Maemo extras-devel repository. The icon unfortunately broke again, I’ll take a look about that on Monday.

I had to follow this solution to get it working: http://codeblog.vurdalakov.net/2009/11/solution-qsslsocket-cannot-call.html

Looks good, will be installing it as soon as i can!
Nostra 8:52 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
How do i get it installed? Went to the QT website, but the smart installer gave errors. Where can i find a good description? Will it work on a Nokia 5800?
futubanister 9:00 pm on March 26, 2010 Permalink |
Hi Nostra!
Can you install this one without errors: ftp://ftp.qt.nokia.com/pub/qt/symbian/4.6.2/qt_installer.sis ?
After the installation goes through successfully you can install WP from http://nokia.trac.wordpress.org/export/122/builds/symbian/WordPress_0.5.5_selfsigned.sisx
We’ve done some experimental testing with 5800, and it was working fine. Please report your success / issues here or in our Trac at http://nokia.trac.wordpress.org

Thanks for the quick response, just tried it installing this way and it worked (took a while). Will now definately start using it for a couple of days to get a feel of it and see how it compares to other applications. Looking at the screenshots though i think i’ll probably will start using this one as my default.

I entered an invalid API key when setting up my Statistics, and now unable to rectify? No option to re-enter correct API key.
ahvenlam 7:53 am on March 27, 2010 Permalink |
Currently you can rectify it from Blogs->Edit blog.
Micky Aldridge 7:55 am on March 27, 2010 Permalink |
Thanks, will give that a go.
Micky Aldridge 8:22 am on March 27, 2010 Permalink |
Ok, found my API key, but even though I have checked, and checked again, its coming up “API Key entered does not belong to Blog Admin”
This maybe because I have a free WordPress.com blog, and a self hosted wordpress.org blog.
I was under the impression, I could use this API Key no matter blog, but seems not?
Micky Aldridge 8:33 am on March 27, 2010 Permalink |
I have double checked within my self hosted NokiaDNA WordPress.org blog, and the Akismet Configuration API is correct, but entering it, I get the error message mentioned above.
Janne Kalliomäki 8:52 am on March 27, 2010 Permalink |
Hi Micky, there might be some issues when using self-hosted blogs. We will sort them out next week before the 0.6 release. But everything should work fine when using wordpress.com blogs, that has been tested a lot.
Micky Aldridge 9:00 am on March 27, 2010 Permalink |
Thanks Janne. I’m now currently merging my free WordPress Blog with my self hosted one, then removing my free one to remove any conflicts, and confusion.
Have a great weekend mate.
Janne Kalliomäki 1:08 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Hi Micky, have you installed the stats plugin for your site and connected your wordpress.com account to your self hosted blog in the global dashboard? We have tested with our own private self hosted blog and the stats work fine.
Micky Aldridge 1:32 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
I only have Akismet Stats installed. Do I need to install something else?
ahvenlam 1:37 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Hello Micky,
It doesn’t work with Akismet, You need to have WordPress.com stats plugin installed.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stats/
Micky Aldridge 1:38 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Excellent, I will add that plugin now, and check again, then let you know.
Thanks.!
Micky Aldridge 1:42 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Ok, all installed, and API accepted, had to add my free WordPress Blog to my self hosted so to use the same API, which I will now enter into the mobile app, and let you know how I get on.
Micky Aldridge 1:36 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Which one of these plugins do I need Janne?
Micky Aldridge 1:37 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Sorry, here is the link, as html didn’t work..
Micky Aldridge 1:45 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
All working 100% now guys, many thanks.!
Micky Aldridge 2:39 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Looks like I spoke too soon. For some reason, using the same API key from my free blog, Im not getting any results, its showing 0 visits. Need to look into obtaining a new API key for my self hosted blog, but no idea how to do this, as there is no sign of an API Key in profile.
Micky Aldridge 2:46 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
When I click the link to get my API key it keeps sending me back to my free WordPress Blog dashboard, where the stats are working fine there. How would I go about obtaining my API key for my Self hosted WordPress Blog?
Micky Aldridge 2:49 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Ok, update, what i have done now, instead of adding my self host WordPress Blog to my Free WordPress Blog, and I set my self hosted blog to replace my free one, so will wait 20 minutes or so, and check stats again.
ahvenlam 2:49 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
It should be same API key for all blogs that are linked to your wordpress.com profile.
Micky Aldridge 2:51 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
When I added it originally, no stats were showing, no hits, nothing, referrers were all blank. As said, i have not set my self hosted Blog (WordPress) to replace the stats of my free wop blog, so hopefully this cures the problem.
Will let you know after Ive done the dishes lol
Micky Aldridge 3:19 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink
Ok, got it working, but still nothing showing, see image below. Does the stats start from 0 from the day you add them or is it supposed to pull in recent logs?

Micky Aldridge 4:18 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
I’m having a nightmare here, and quite simply cannot get the stats to work, on laptop, or phone.
Micky Aldridge 4:43 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Deleted my free wordpress blog altogether now, so hopefully I should be able to narrow this down more.
Micky Aldridge 4:47 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gsi-r/4473098125/
Still no joy. Will now remove plugin, and try again, see if the API Key is changed.
Micky Aldridge 5:05 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink
OK, so free wordpress blog has gone, removed the stats plugin, and added it again, and added API Key, but Im still not getting any stats at all, from either my Nokia DNA dashboard, or my Global dashboard.
Micky Aldridge 7:24 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink
I have exhausted all options now, I have disabled all my plugins in the hope to narrow it down to a possible conflict with another plug in, but even disabling all plugins, Im still not getting any stats info.
mosko 9:50 am on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
hey guys, does the qt and the wordpress for nokia package should both be installed on the phone memory? or can i have only the qt on the phone memory and the WFN package on the memory card?
Micky Aldridge 9:53 am on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Everything currently needs to be installed onto your phone memory in order to work correctly, however, we are all hoping the WordPress team can work their magic, and allow installation for all files to Mass memory.
Micky Aldridge 7:27 pm on March 29, 2010 Permalink |
Ok, hopefully my blog should be correctly linked to my name now, as I just noticed, my deleted blog was linked.
Micky Aldridge 6:58 am on March 30, 2010 Permalink |
Update guys. After a late night lastnight, and pulling my hair out, I gave up, but this morning whwn I checked, my stats are now working 100%. YES!!!
ahvenlam 7:08 am on March 30, 2010 Permalink |
OK, great to hear that it is working. It starts gathering statististics when you install that plugin. So it should show 0 hits first.
Eivind M. 8:14 am on March 31, 2010 Permalink |
Thanks for a great update! Stats is by far the most used feature for me.
I do have a little request, though. My wordpress.com API key is used for several of my blogs (10-15). When I enter the API Key in the Nokia app, I’m not allowed to choose which of the blogs I want to get stats from. Thus, I get the stats of one of the other blogs. Not even sure which one..
So, would it be possible to either have a selection of which blog to get stats from, or to automatically detect which stats to get depending on the URL of the blog I’m currently editing?
Again, thanks for a great app and a great update!
futubanister 8:44 am on March 31, 2010 Permalink |
Hello Eivind!
The code used to create the URL looks like this:
Url url = QUrl("http://stats.wordpress.com/csv.php");
url.addQueryItem("api_key", iBlogData->iApiKey);
url.addQueryItem("blog_uri", iBlogData->iUrl);
url.addQueryItem("format", "xml");
http://nokia.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/WPNetworkEngine.cpp
It produces an URL like this:
http://stats.wordpress.com/csv.php?api_key=YOURAPIKEY&blog_uri=YOURBLOGURL&format=xml
As you can see, it takes the blog url as a parameter, so the stats should be coming from the active blog.
Please let us know if this is not the case – you can also play around with the URL above to check the different blogs in raw stats format.
BR,

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I’ve been investigating a bit, and it seems it does actually fetch the correct stats. But it doesn’t render the entire stat graph, it only shows me stats for the days since I installed the app. This picture shows the comparison between the firefox wp stat, and the one shown in the app on my Nokia:
Don’t know what might cause the error, but perhaps the superb dev team knows where to start looking? Hope this is of help, at least!
Once again, as always, thanks for a great app and great work!

Tried embedding an image, that don’t seem to work very well.. The URL of the image is here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2773/4478969495_0c9c3c894b.jpg

Hello Eivind,
I think it somehow failed to retrieve all visiting statistics at the first time and now it is only retrieving new ones. Try installing newest version (0.6.0). Then reset statististics using following steps.
1. Blogs->Edit blog. Clear api key field and Save.
2. Refresh
3. Open statistics and set api key again.
Please let us know if it works after this.
