The WordPress for Nokia core team is looking for contributors to the project. WP for Nokia is completely Open Source (the code base is released under GPLv2), and so it’s dependent on help from the community to continue it’s development. I’m Abhishek Kumar! Few people might know me as the author of CutePress. I’m a Qt Enthusiast and I love to develop open-source applications for mobile devices.
I think its time to take WordPress for Nokia further specially for Symbian^3+ and MeeGo devices. I’ll be working on it in coming weeks and hopefully, there will be official WordPress application with some new features back on Nokia store soon!

Hello – this is an initiative I have waited for long! Having recently changed to Nokia E7 (with “Symbian Belle”), I would appreciate mobile blogging to WordPress. I am not a software professional, but if as a user I can somehow be of help, I’d gladly do it.

Surprisingly, WordPress for Nokia seems to be available for Symbian Anna, but not for (my) Symbian Belle. As other feedback about Anna and Belle strongly suggests that Belle is better, probably developing a WordPress for Symbian Belle, the recommended version by Nokia, should not be too challenging. I believe there is also an audience for this.
It would be nice to have an official WordPress client for the Nokia N9 (Maemo Harmattan, QML UI)

it seems nobody cares about developing app for older models, So I thinking about making WP app compatible on my E63 myself

guys i really really really need the wp app up and running …please….i started to use Wordmobi to write on my blog but is not working very well on my N08-00…please fix the symbian app…please!!!!!!
It still works finr here on my Nokia N8-00 running Symbian Anna.
i just saw something regarding Anna but i’m from Italy and i just need to wait a few more days for the Anna upgrade….i heard it’s good and i hope it will fix the bug in wp app that freezes it @ startup page,thanks for the input.
WordPress for Nokia, working fine on my Nokia 5230, I don’t use it to write posts but I do use it to approve or reject comments posted on site. I also use it to check my visitor stats. Love it, works great!

So , in response to my previous post to which there were NO responses – does ANYONE know how secure my device is if I am running the WP App on it ??? Considering teh recent Hack of the Developers website – I am really concerned about it and have stopped using the Nokia WP App. Anyone?
I think it should be OK and am happy to continue using it. Of course, this no guarantee, but I believe the hack was more of user data grab to prove that Nokia had missed a hole in protection and was specifically malicious.
Thanks for the response. I know the Hack on Nokia Forum was a data snatch – my email was amongst the data taken.
What I was asking was this.
If the WordPress Nokia Blog app does not uses https:// when it connects via my Nokia to the web , it quite possibly allow malicious hackers to gain access INTO my nokia device?
Also, the ports its opens/uses to connect out are accessible via a MITM attack, and I have tested this myself using the USB Dongle and my laptop, which allowed my networked PC to collect all traffic being sent from the Nokia App to WordPress.com’s xml rpc ….
So – is this APP SECURE ?
If not, why is there no disclaimer informing users of this fact?
No, i am still using it. And i think, this is great for keep your site updated on the go.
You may still be using it Shazza – but my question stands – while you ARE using it – is someone else using the same connection to get INTO YOUR MOBILE ?

I will remember this, espacially people who are unable coding programs just in case if there are any bugs in a program I was providing recently. really good job to say: don’t complain, just help yourself.

It says S60 — someone should say it’s only S60v5 + Symbian ^3 & Maemo. There should be one for S60v3 (N95, E71, E90)

I’ll donate funds, but I have no expertise in coding whatsoever… I would love for this app to get updated, cuz I like having the dedicated client by wordpress rather than a 3rd party app.
